We’ve lined Booker Wines’ My Favourite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon on a number of events — and didn’t even know the model supplied a Chardonnay expression till now. The wine (now typically often called simply “MFN”) is predominantly comprised of grapes sourced from the Edna Valley AVA on the coast close to San Luis Obispo.
Nutty and barrel-driven, this wine has a well-rested, savory bent to it, that includes parts of sesame seeds and baked bread, later shifting to dried apricots and inexperienced apple chips, giving the wine some wanted life. The palate is simply reasonably acidic, its fairly creamy building leaving ample room for notes of guava, lemon curd, and loads of vanilla, all of which add complexity. The end is sort of prolonged and layered with stewed fruits, although it finishes on a barely drying be aware. If anybody needs my two cents, I’d dial down the barrel time on this one.
